Gilbert locals will soon be sharing pints at a new craft taproom.

Jennifer Gallego knows her beer. For years, she’s been studying flavor profiles, building connections in the craft beer world, and even brewing her own beer at home to ensure she understands every detail that goes into creating the perfect pint. “As a woman in the industry, I know the feeling of intimidation when you walk into a bar or brewery,” she said. “It’s kind of a man’s world, and I’m excited to help change that.”

And this summer, change is coming — at least to Gilbert, AZ. Jennifer plans to open the industrial garage doors of the Tap Dragon Beer and Wine Bar by August 1st. Located on the corner of Gilbert and Warner (835 South Gilbert Street, to be exact), Tap Dragon will be the first official taproom in the area, serving 32 craft beers on tap and 15 rotating wines, complete with a dog-friendly patio, an indoor-outdoor bar, and live music.

“I’m hoping to become the Cheers of the neighborhood,” Jennifer said. “People from all walks of life are welcome.” In the spirit of quoting barrier-breaking women, I feel it’s only appropriate to end with the words of my personal hero, Rihanna : “I’ll drink to that!”

Tap Dragon Craft Beer & Wine bar is set to become the official Tap Room of Gilbert, AZ as it prepares to open its industrial doors to patrons in August 2021 on the corner of Gilbert and Warner Road.

This playground of hops Beer Bar has been designed to keep up with its simple goal - “Great Beer, Great Service”. It is something one can expect from Jennifer Gallego, owner of the Tap Dragon, who plans on bringing an “A” Game of quality craft beers, wine, and customer service!

Gallego has spent years studying flavor profiles, building relationships in the craft beer community, and even brewed her own beer at home to ensure she understands every detail that goes into creating this magical pint. She is now set to bring about the revolution to patrons in Gilbert, AZ, and surrounding areas.

The craft beer industry has traditionally been dominated by men, and Gallego understands the challenge. “As a woman in the industry, I know the feeling of intimidation when you walk into a bar or brewery ". She has every reason to be excited as the highly anticipated Beer Bar will start serving Craft Beer, Wine, Mead and Cider. Given Gallego’s passion for great beer and wine, one can expect only the best at Tap Dragon Craft Beer & Wine bar. After all, the tagline is “WHERE GREAT BEER ISN’T A MYTH”!

In all, 32 craft beers on tap, and 15 rotating wines will be served at the indoor and outdoor bar with a dog-friendly patio. Customers looking to take some beer home will be able to mix and match their own four-packs of beer to-go.

As breweries nationwide and around the world wrestle with high-profile issues of gender disparity, Gilbert will welcome a new female-owned craft beer bar this summer.

Tap Dragon Craft Beer & Wine Bar is scheduled to open on the southeast corner of Gilbert and Warner in August.

First-time bar owner Jennifer Gallego is well aware of what women face in the male-dominated industry.
